Fairground Blues

I listen to music which makes me cry,
Begging it to let me down one more time
Sun-soaked, riding down from an adrenaline high
Laughing, tossing, thrown around the carnival
Fried, sugary kisses into the sunset
Cheap polyester prizes and
Knowing we ain’t made of time,
But spontaneous dreams and childlike wonder
We won’t run out this time,
I’d bet one more ride, and always
One more song
